About SPAN

The Ashworth Estate

The Ashworth Estate was established as a Trust under the auspices of the St. Paul Abilities Network in May 1981. The Trust is designed to meet the needs of children with disabilities.

A number of innovative projects have been supported by the Trust over the years, which also sponsors children with disabilities so they can participate in a variety of recreational and sporting activities and events.

All children, whether they are part of the agency's residential programs or reside at home, equally enjoy the benefits of the Estate's proceeds. Applications are welcomed from residents living within the boundaries of the St. Paul Abilities Network, encompassing an area of more than 33,000 square kilometres between Two Hills and Lac La Biche and from Smoky Lake to Bonnyville.

Interested persons or organizations may apply for a grant by writing a letter outlining the amount of funding they're seeking, along with an indication of how the funds will benefit a disabled child or children. Grants are limited to a maximum of $2,500. Typically, funds are distributed once a year in the fall. Throughout the year, a small fund is available for immediate needs.

Grant requests should be submitted to:
