The Developmental Disabilities Resource Centre of Calgary facilitates
personal choice and builds the community's capacity to include people
with developmental disabilities. They provide personalized planning and
services to more than 1,000 people with developmental disabilities and
their families.

Since 1985, they have designed accessible holidays and escorted
groups on accessible vacations exclusively for slow walkers, wheelchair

Lekotek is loosely translated as "play library" and is a concept that
originated in Sweden. The Lekotek mission is to "facilitate the inclusion
of children with disabilities and developmental vulnerabilities into the full
range of family and community life. Lekotek uses family-centred play as
the cornerstone for building inclusive environments." They have a "Toy
Resource Helpline" at 1-800-366-PLAY (TTY 847-328-0001) which
provides parents of children with disabilities, their friends, family and the
professionals who work with them with individualized assistance in
selecting appropriate toys and play materials.
